Course content
1. Warehousing Operations: Understanding the roles and responsibilities within a warehousing operation, including the movement and storage of goods, stock control, and health and safety considerations.
2. Goods Receipt and Dispatch: Learning about the processes involved in receiving and dispatching goods, including checking and verifying quantities, quality control, and documentation.
3. Stock Control and Inventory Management: Developing skills in managing stock levels, conducting stock checks, implementing inventory control systems, and addressing issues such as stock rotation and shrinkage.
4. Health and Safety in the Warehouse: Understanding health and safety regulations and procedures specific to warehouse environments, including safe handling of goods, storage practices, and risk assessment.
5. Customer Service in Warehousing: Learning how to deliver excellent customer service within a warehousing context, including effective communication, problem-solving, and meeting customer requirements.
6. Teamwork and Communication: Developing skills in effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration within a warehousing setting, including working with colleagues and coordinating tasks.
7. Warehousing Equipment and Technology: Gaining knowledge of common warehousing equipment, such as forklifts and pallet trucks, and understanding how technology is used in warehouse operations, including warehouse management systems and barcode scanning.
Assessment
The assessment is done via submission of assignment. There are no written exams.
