1. Understanding Equalities Legislation: Exploring the legislation and regulations related to equalities, such as the Equality Act, and understanding the rights and protections it provides.
2. Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: Developing an understanding of the concepts of equality, diversity, and inclusion and their importance in creating inclusive workplaces.
3. Trade Union Roles and Responsibilities: Understanding the role of trade union representatives and their responsibilities in promoting equality and diversity within the workplace.
4. Promoting Equality and Diversity: Learning strategies and techniques for promoting equality and diversity in the workplace, including awareness campaigns, training programs, and policy development.
5. Handling Discrimination and Harassment Cases: Developing skills in handling discrimination and harassment cases, supporting affected individuals, and navigating grievance procedures.
6. Equality Impact Assessment: Understanding the process of conducting equality impact assessments and applying them to policies and practices within the workplace.
7. Negotiating Equalities Issues: Learning negotiation techniques and strategies for addressing equalities issues during collective bargaining and consultation processes.
8. Providing Advice and Support: Developing the skills to provide advice and support to trade union members on equalities issues, including understanding individual rights, signposting to resources, and offering guidance on resolving workplace inequalities.
Assessment
The assessment is done via submission of assignment. There are no written exams.
